Journal I started this immediately when I found I was pregnant. It's become a scrapbook slash journal. This blog is kind of the same thing, but the Belly Book is tangible. Babycenter.com This is the one site I come back to frequently for general info for me and baby. I mean there's tons of sites out there, but this one has been useful to me. Plus you can sign up for weekly emails from them, from which I've learned a lot. Vitacost.com I've used these guys for all of the supplements and teas I've needed (see those next.) Don't know that they are necessarily the cheapest, but the prices do seem good to me and the service is really fast. Red Raspberry Leaf Tea (Midwife Suggested) Helps tone the uterus. I make iced tea from it and drink it all day. Don't know if my uterus is toned or not, but drinking that much liquid is also helpful for keeping the swelling at bay and my complexion clear. I haven't gotten stretch marks and I can't help but wonder if it's because of all the liquid I've injested. (I've also used Aveeno lotion on my belly since conception.) Mother's Milk Tea (Midwife Suggested) Helps your milk come in. Nettles (Midwife Suggested) Helps keep the swelling down really well (that plus a handful of protein every couple hours realllly works!) Evening Primrose Oil (Midwife Suggested) 1500 MG 2x's a day two weeks out from my due date to help soften the cervix. One week out I was told to insert the 2 capsules you- know-where at bedtime to give the oil direct contact. Don't know if it's working or not yet... Smart Mom Jewelry Jewelry baby can suck on, since he'll suck on it anyway. Breastfeeding Resources | 2 | 3 Social Suppers Went with some friends and made (5) 3 serving meals for $70 and stuck them in the freezer for after baby is born. Babies R Us Been there 9,000 times in the last 6 months. Aside from "Stork Parking", they give out coupons when you check out for 20% off of one item which I've used toward bigger ticket items like the swing and car seat. Saved me some coin! I've also read that you can enter terms like "target coupon" into google and you can find money-saving deals that way. Funny! Baby's Health Book I read about this in a magazine. You can download forms and create a binder for baby to take to the doctor each time you go to keep info organized. |
