Nine Weeks
Spent the last several days back in Denver. It was nice to see our old, familiar stomping grounds again. But admittedly, it's been nice to be back here in KC too, back at 'home'.

Little Two's Development is as such: has begun movement too small for me to feel, but he/she is wriggling, shifting, and dancing already! Most joints are formed now and the little two is practicing bending and flexing. Baby will curve its fingers around an object placed in the palm of its hand and fingerprints are already evident in the skin. Average size this week -- length 0.9 inch (2.3cm), weight 0.07 ounce (2gm). Teeny!

Still wondering how I'm going to manuever with two babies instead of one, and know it will be tough!

One thing that may help me be able to maneuver with two children is this web site I found called "Once a Month Mom". It's a site that gives you a monthly menu and grocery list for FREE! I just found it today, but it looks straightforward and I am planning to give it a go for the next grocery shopping cycle. For me it will depend on how good the recipes are...they don't look like diet food, but the ingredients can always be altered. I just think that it is so helpful to have this! I seriously was just thinking, "if only I could come up with a monthly menu and grocery list I would save money" because I have trouble not going over our budgetted moolah for the month for groceries. And believe me, it should be plenty.

The reason this is so important to me is that I am finding that as a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM) the house is my domain. It is my responsibility (and one of which I am proud) to provide a clean, happy home home to my family (which includes tasty healthy meals.) I believe that my role as Mom encompasses being nurturer. I define nurturing as being able to provide a healthy, clean, safe, happy, secure, restful, fun and peaceful living environment. One in which all who live within are happier as a result.

It is surpirisingly difficult. But I task I hope to refine and hone so that one day my kids say, "I was a happy kid. My home was a great place to be."

Eleven Weeks
Got to hear the baby's rapid heartbeat at our first midwife appointment on Friday. We heard it as a family: Andrew, Drew and Me! We can't wait to meet you Little Two!

And "Pregnancy Brain" has set it something fierce. Two baubbles this past week. 1) Went to grocery specifically cuz I was out of formula for Drew. Got there, got dinner for he and I, left. Came home, realized, "No Formula." Dangit. 2) Shopped with the Gold Members at Sams - without being a gold member. I saw their early hours (didn't see the words "Gold Shopper Hours" next to the times), and went for it. Didn't get caught. Hey, it's nice shopping with the Gold people! There's hardly anyone there AND there's free coffee!

Twelve Weeks
I was hungry with Drew, would wake in the morning and barely get to the kitchen without falling over from lack of energy and starvation. This time it's worse! I am insatiable. I even wake up in the middle of the night to my stomach growling.

I am not one of those types who thinks it's fun to sneak a sandwich in the middle of the night - I would much rather be snug as a bug in bed. So, to have to arise and get food at 3AM is totally unacceptable. My plan has been to eat up before bed - hoping it will carry me through, but in the event that I do wake up I have bought stock in the protein/energy drink "Boost". It's actually pretty good and packs 15g of protein and 240 calories all in about 5 big gulps of chocolate-y goodness. I've got them stashed in my bedside table. Sorry, not a sip to spare.
